Description
Variable-capacity heat pump that automatically adjusts compressor output for consistent comfort and high efficiency across the full range of outdoor temperatures, rather than cycling fully on and off like a single-stage unit. This is the larger member of the Preferred series alongside the 3-ton listing on this page, sharing the same refrigerant type and control compatibility. Runs at partial capacity most of the time in both heating and cooling, which improves humidity control in summer and reduces the cold-air-blast feeling sometimes associated with heat pump heating. Compatible with Bryant's connex control thermostats for full variable-capacity modulation, or standard controls at reduced (staged) functionality.
